Currently I am working as an Associate Professor in Economics at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, at National Institute of Science Education and Research, (NISER), Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. NISER is an autonomous institute funded by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. Prior to this I have worked at the Department of Analytical and Applied Economics, Utkal University as an Assistant Professor and as a Deputy Director, in the Fourteenth Finance Commission of India.
I am serving as the coordinator of the DST Centre for Policy Research at NISER Bhubaneswar. With the generous funding of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India I have established a DST Centre for Policy Research at NISER with the research focus on energy transition and tribal education in eastern India.
I have been serving as the Secretary of Odisha Economics Association since 2018. I have served as the Assistant Secretary of the Indian Econometric Society (TIES) during 2016-17 and a member of the Executive Committee of TIES during 2020-22.
I love reading, writing and debating on social issues. Occasionally I write in national and local newspapers on important social and economic issues. I have published articles in The Hindu Businessline, Times of India, The Samaja, Dharitri, Sakal newspapers. I also participate in various TV channels. As of now I have participated in various programmes of DD Odia, OTV, Argus TV, and Nandighosh TV.
I also take interest in doing some social work particularly in the field of education. Through Gyanalok initiatives we have been trying to guide and assist the underprivileged students to go for higher education.
